Northpark Shopping Centre to become Prospect Central after major redevelopment

The Northpark Shopping Centre, situated on Main North Road in South Australia, is set for a comprehensive $40 million redevelopment that will see it rebranded as “Prospect Central.” The ambitious project aims to modernise both the interior and exterior of the centre, enhancing its appeal and functionality for shoppers and the local community.

Modern amenities and community-focused design

Key features of the redevelopment include shaded parking facilities, exposed ceiling beams, skylights, refurbished bathrooms, new seating areas, and native landscaping. The upgrade is designed to create a light-filled, welcoming environment that encourages visitors to linger and enjoy the centre’s offerings.

Upgraded retail and hospitality offerings

The tenancy refurbishment will see an upgraded Woolworths as a cornerstone retailer, alongside refreshed hospitality venues and food outlets. The finished complex is intended to become a vibrant community hub, supporting local businesses and providing a diverse range of shopping and dining experiences.

Collaboration between leading industry partners

The redevelopment is being delivered by The Duke Group, in collaboration with Evo Arc as architects and SHAPE Australia as the construction partner. The project team is focused on delivering a high-quality, sustainable transformation that meets the needs of both tenants and the wider community.

Completion expected by early 2026

Work on Prospect Central is already underway, with completion expected by early 2026. The redevelopment is poised to set a new benchmark for retail and community spaces in South Australia, supporting economic growth and enhancing the region’s liveability.
