Ever thought about switching careers but weren’t sure where to start? If you’re a woman looking for a change, the construction industry might be the opportunity you never knew you needed.

And now, thanks to a new campaign, you don’t have to take a leap of faith—you can check it out for yourself first.

Some of Australia’s biggest construction companies have come together to give women the chance to step onto live worksites and see what the industry is really like.

With support from the NSW Government, the Australian Constructors Association (ACA) has launched the “It’s Possible” campaign, aiming to show mid-career women that a future in construction isn’t just an option—it’s a great one.

Construction isn’t just for the blokes – and you probably have the skills already

For many women, construction just isn’t on the radar when thinking about career options. ACA CEO Jon Davies says that’s because there are a lot of misconceptions about the industry and who can work in it.

“We hear time and time again that women don’t apply for jobs because they don’t tick every box,” Mr Davies said.

“The ‘It’s Possible’ campaign shows women that they already have the skills to thrive in construction. If we can give women the chance to visit our sites and experience it for themselves, they’ll see that construction has fantastic opportunities for everyone.”

It’s not just talk—the campaign highlights real women who have made the transition and found success. One of them is Moreta, who left behind a desk job as a claims manager for a hands-on role in construction, and she hasn’t looked back.

“Before construction, I was a claims manager. I was stuck at a desk all day and needed a change. What I like most about construction is the job variety—every day is different,” she said.

“And if anyone says women can’t work in construction, it’s not true. More and more women are joining the industry.”

Exclusive site tours

Let’s be real—changing careers is a big deal. That’s why this campaign is offering exclusive site tours across NSW, giving women a firsthand look at what construction work is all about.

You’ll get to explore live worksites, meet people in the industry, and hear from women who have already made the leap.

“This is the perfect opportunity to see for yourself what construction can offer,” Mr Davies said. “Take the first step—sign up today and discover a career that could change your life.”
