A good workman never blames his tools – but if you did any of the jobs below, it might be a good idea to do so.

This month’s collection of construction calamities showcases a range of “creative solutions” bound to give a confidence boost to your own construction skills, whatever the level.

From wonky walls to mind-boggling brickwork, we have scoured the nation for the country’s shonkiest work that will leave you asking, “How did that even happen?”

So grab your hard hat and brace for a chuckle as Build-it unveils Australia’s biggest building bloopers found this November – so awful they’re almost impressive.

Structural Shockers
Hold onto your blueprints as the following structural slip-ups will make you wonder whether these buildings were drawn up with a tape measure or a can of silly string.

Safe to say these builders didn’t use a level:

Gaining some air-conditioning may have cost this house it’s structural integrity – with several beams cut through during it’s installation:

Good luck finding something to fit in this corner:

To be fair if you turn the image upside down, this support beam doesn’t seem so bad:

Plumbing Problems
These plumbing peculiarities will leave you piping up with laughter, with those responsible clearly suffering a blockage on any clever creativity.

This property in Queensland must be expecting some serious storms:

Problematic pipework or an ingenuous towel rack… you be the judge:

Concreting Catastrophes
Let’s dig into Australia’s concrete chaos, where the foundations might be shaky, but the laughs are still rock solid.

My guess is this curve was meant to align with the storm drain? Not far off I suppose:

Nothing a few tiles wont fix:

Bricklaying Blunders
Time to break down some “’wall-ful” wonders of wonky brickwork.

Be honest, do you think the neighbours will even notice?:

Nothing some filler won’t fix:

You could never tell that wasn’t part of the original wall:

That’ll sand down I’m sure:

Carpentry Calamities & flooring failures
You “wood” not believe many of these carpentry calamities without seeing them – from framing fiascos to doorway debacles, they’re guaranteed to hammer out the laughs.

Sure, this bannister railing may not look great, but at least it’s kind of safe:

Hopefully there is some spare filler left over:

Finally a door designed for right handers!
